Paul Carlo Esposito: Empty Colony
Public Pool Gallery presents new site-specific work by Paul Carlo Esposito. A large silicone sculpture, activated by a high power pump, will course throughout the length of the pool gushing water from silicone forms reminiscent of sea creatures growing from the melted remains of a human body. Esposito's work engages with ecology, horror and the body often using materials that mimic human flesh and systems that reproduce basic bodily functions like breathing, expulsion and elimination.
